The 750 ti says it outputs 60W and requires a 300W minimum power supply and online also says it has an optional 6-pin power connector (bought it used, so no paperwork). I'm completely new to all this and this is even my first GPU install. I updated the Nvidia drivers via Bootcamp and I was gaming in no time. To test, I plugged the GPU into the Akitio, the Akitio is connected to the Macbook and the Macbook is connected to the Monitor. This is probably the easiest plug-and-play set-up out there. I'm not a fan of clutter and exposed wiring, so I went with a GPU that can actually fit inside the enclosed Akitio, the EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 ti. I do some design work and also was looking to do some casual gaming, so I did some research and found the eGPU capabilities with an AKiTiO Thunder2 PCIe Box.

I connect my macbook to a Samsung 4K monitor. iGPU Intel HD 4000, dGPU Nvidia Geforce GT 650M. So I have an early 2013 15" rMBP 2.4Ghz i7, 8GB RAM, 256SSD.
